30 truffles
Ingredients
Truffles
- 1 box chocolate fudge brownie mix (family size)
- 8 oz cream cheese frosting
For the coating
- 16 oz melted milk chocolate
- 1 tablespoon shortening
Garnish
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- ½ cup melted white chocolate (for drizzle)
Instructions
For Truffles
- Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions. Allow the baked brownies to cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled brownies into a bowl and mix with the 8 oz cream cheese frosting until evenly combined.
- Roll the mixture into walnut-sized balls. Place on a baking sheet and chill for about 1 hour to firm up.
For the coating
- Melt the milk chocolate with the tablespoon of shortening until smooth, stirring to combine.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, tapping off excess, and place back on the sheet to harden.
For garnish
- Once the chocolate coating has set, drizzle additional milk chocolate over the truffles and immediately sprinkle with chopped pecans so they adhere.
- Finish with a decorative drizzle of melted white chocolate. Let the truffles set completely before serving or packaging.
Notes
These truffles keep well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several days. For easier dipping, chill the truffles until very firm and warm the chocolate just enough to coat smoothly.
