Who knew broccoli could recreate the comfort of classic tater tots while staying keto-friendly? These keto broccoli tots are a kid-approved, low-carb twist on a nostalgic favorite. You can make them with broccoli or substitute cauliflower if you prefer.
For convenience we used a 12-ounce bag of riced broccoli from the freezer section, but you can easily rice fresh broccoli or cauliflower with a food processor. If using fresh florets, pulse them until they resemble rice, place the riced vegetable in a microwave-safe bowl with a couple of tablespoons of water, cover, and microwave on high for about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes just until tender. Drain and dry well before continuing.
An egg in this recipe serves as the binder to hold everything together. We kept the recipe simple with almond flour and seasonings, but you can fold in up to 1/2 cup of shredded cheese if you like a cheesier result. If you’re watching dairy to support weight loss, the recipe works well without extra cheese.
The easy dipping sauce pairs perfectly with the tots. Use mayonnaise as written or swap in unsweetened Greek yogurt for a lighter option—the flavor is still excellent.

Keto Broccoli Tots Recipe Ingredients
- 1 – 12 ounce bag of riced broccoli (microwavable bag) or 12 ounces fresh riced broccoli/cauliflower
- 3 tablespoons almond flour
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon pink salt (or sea salt)
- 1 egg
Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or unsweetened Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 cup sriracha (adjust to taste)
Keto Broccoli Tots Recipe Instructions
- Prepare the riced broccoli according to package directions, or steam your fresh riced broccoli in the microwave for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes with a couple tablespoons of water.
- Drain thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture—this prevents soggy tots.
- In a bowl, combine the drained broccoli with almond flour, onion powder, garlic powder, pink salt, and the egg. Mix until well combined. If desired, fold in up to 1/2 cup shredded cheese.
- Form the mixture into small tot shapes and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes or until the tots are golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Mix the dipping sauce ingredients and serve alongside the hot tots. Enjoy!
