Copycat Daily’s Frozen Cocktails Recipe Guide

Love the idea of ready-to-enjoy frozen daiquiris, margaritas, and piña coladas? We do too. Those popular frozen cocktails can be difficult to find, so we developed an easy, slightly stronger copycat version you can make at home.

This simple DIY method yields full Red Solo Cup–sized frozen cocktails that are perfect for parties, camping, fishing, barbecues, or lounging by the pool. Fruit mixers are often on sale around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day, making this a budget-friendly option.

Perfect for Parties

These frozen cocktails are ideal for gatherings because they’re inexpensive to make, easy to transport, and you control the sweetness and alcohol level. If you prefer fresh fruit, crushed strawberries with a tablespoon of sugar work well, but pre-made mixers are often cheaper and more convenient.

We like this approach because: 1) It costs much less to make at home, 2) One batch fills a Red Solo Cup without needing multiple packages, and 3) You can adjust sweetness and alcohol strength to taste.

Fun Fact

The Red Solo Cup became a household name in part because of a popular song that boosted the brand’s recognition. That renewed attention helped the company grow and eventually led to its acquisition later on.

Copycat Dailys Frozen Cocktails (Solo Cup Sized)

Strawberry Daiquiris
2 oz rum
4 oz strawberry mixer
1 Red Solo Cup, filled to the top with ice cubes

Frozen Margaritas
2 oz tequila
4 oz margarita mix
1 Red Solo Cup, filled to the top with ice cubes

Piña Coladas
2 oz rum
4 oz piña colada mix
1 Red Solo Cup, filled to the top with ice cubes

Fuzzy Navels
2 oz peach schnapps
6 oz orange juice
1 Red Solo Cup, filled to the top with ice cubes

Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the blended mixture into a sturdy freezer-safe bag—Ziploc or a vacuum-seal bag works. If using a vacuum sealer, seal carefully to avoid drawing liquid into the machine.

Freeze the sealed bags flat so they stack easily. The alcohol keeps these from freezing solid, resulting in a slushy texture when served. Note: Nonalcoholic “virgin” versions will freeze solid and become more like popsicles.

To Serve: Remove a bag from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 3–4 minutes. Press and massage the bag for a minute to loosen the slush, then pour into a Solo cup.

For daiquiris, rub a lime wedge or a sliced strawberry around the rim and dip in sugar before pouring for an extra-special touch. For margaritas, don’t forget to salt the rim.

Pineapple Margaritas (Solo Cup Yield)
1 cup fresh lime juice (about 10 limes)
1 cup blanco tequila
1 cup triple sec
1 1/4 cups fresh pineapple juice

Combine all ingredients until well mixed. Fill a Solo cup with ice, pour margarita mixture until the cup is two-thirds full, blend if desired, then portion into freezer bags and freeze as directed. This recipe makes roughly four Solo-cup-sized margaritas.
